What started with an idea and custom made ball markers, turned into a career, and now a continued desire to bring creativity to golf.
On the college campus where Michelle played collegiate golf, UTD, there was a workshop. Michelle walked in there with an idea, and soon learned the craftsmanship of stamping and machining, working with all kinds of lasers, machines and tools. Once COVID hit, she moved her work station home and continued making custom golf ball markers.
One random ball marker order led to Michelle becoming an Assistant Golf Professional at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas, the home course of Scottie Scheffler. Michelle completed her classification to become a PGA of America Golf Professional in 2021 while still making ball markers, on an all new level with new reach.
Michelle became a full time Director of Instruction at Prestonwood CC in Dallas, where she would go on to be recognized as one of Golf Digest’s Best Young Teachers in America. Her passion for golf continued as she built two more golf businesses. The Golf Suite, a 24/7 indoor golf commercial facility, and Indoor Golf Consulting, a nationwide simulator design and install service.
As Michelle’s golf businesses grew, she still had a passion for bringing design and uniqueness to golf accessories. From giving and receiving many custom balls throughout the years, Michelle always felt like they were lacking in creativity and packaging. She couldn’t even find anywhere just to get one ball made with her business logo on it. Thus started the need to print better custom balls, and create an experience that was lacking. Reinventing the gift of golf, for the golfer that might already have everything.
The story keeps going with every custom set that leaves Hot Birdie.
